A bit about us
As Above So Below Tattoo Studio was founded in 2022 by Jess Harris and Ricky R, bringing together a collective experience of over 20 years in the tattoo industry. Based in the historic city of Carlisle, with beautiful views of Carlisle Cathedral, the studio operates as a private space designed to create a relaxed, personal experience for every client.
Being a private studio, we work by appointment only, allowing us to focus fully on each piece of artwork and ensure a calm, comfortable environment away from the busy walk-in setting of traditional street shops.
Over time, the team has grown to include some incredible talent, each bringing their own unique styles and creative perspectives to the studio.
Our goal as a family, is to maintain a safe, supportive, and affordable workspace for our team, while offering clients a welcoming atmosphere, great energy, and high-quality tattoos they can be proud to wear.

The Studio Experience
Every artist in our studio has worked in other studios previously, and lessons learnt from previous experiences have taught us exactly what we need to prioritize in our own studio. Above all, our focus is on making sure each and every person visiting us; whether that be for tattoos or piercings - has the best possible time whilst in As Above So Below.
We strive to create a safe, comfortable place where everyone - from every walk of life - is welcome.
Our location makes visiting us super convenient, being just on the outskirts of the Town Centre - only a minutes walk!
we are surrounded by several carparks, but if you need a hand deciding which one is the best one for you, please feel free to message your chosen artist and we can advise.
We are - for the most part - wheelchair accessible, and with disabled parking spaces just a few yards down the road, we're the ideal choice for most capabilities. If you have any questions regarding this, again, please feel free to message your chosen artist and we can give you whatever information you require to make your visit as smooth as possible.
Being as central as we are, there several local eateries and cafes we recommend should you decide to venture out on a lunch break or just fancy a big breakfast on your way in. The likes of "I love cafe" and "The Buttered Cat" being among our favorites for a bite. We also have the historic Carlisle market just around the corner with some fantastic food stalls that we all love! We'd also love to give a huge shout out to our friends down at Luna Amatores - A local, award winning Jewelry and homeware shop.
